Jurybegründung

Kirill Gluschenko kombiniert in seiner Arbeit äußerst intelligent Fiktion und Realität. Was ist Rekonstruktion und was reine Konstruktion? Zugreifend auf vielfältiges Archiv- und Forschungsmaterial lässt er die Grenzen zwischen Wirklichkeit und Ausgedachtem verschwimmen. Als Publikation und installative Rekonstruktionen zeichnet der Künstler die Geschichte des Hotel Venets in Ulyanovsk (Russland) nach, welches 1967 anlässlich des 50. Jahrestages der Oktoberrevolution errichtet wurde. Er setzt sich darin mit den damaligen Vorstellungen und Richtlinien des „Idealen“ auseinander.
